Chicken Little (2005)

I thought the intro of the film was cute and clever. Using introductions from other Disney/fairytale films was certainly interesting and a great way to get the audience’s attention. More often than not, when Disney either chooses songs to incorporate into their films or they have songs written for their films (whether I enjoy them or not) the songs fit nicely and help add to the story. In this film, however, the songs, for the most part, felt out of place. The coolest thing about the film was how crafty Chicken Little was. From using a sticky lollipop to get himself unstuck from a piece of gum to using a bottle of soda as a jetpack, I seriously enjoyed each of the little things he did to make it through his day. I thought the film was paced poorly. The first thirty minutes sped through a number of events. After this, the film moves at a much slower pace; not one that drags on, but one that almost feels as if it did because of the pace of the first third of the film. Similar to the beginning portion of the film, the final act of the film moves incredibly fast. Due to the fact that the film is paced so terribly, it became hard to enjoy as a whole. While the film certainly isn’t bad, it falls short of the expectations many would have for a Disney film.
