Daddy's Home (2015)

Every once in a while, in Hollywood, two actors are able to form an incomparable dynamic duo; Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell are just that. These two actors work incredibly well with one another and their ability to feed off of one another’s comedy is potentially unparalleled in Hollywood today. Hannibal Buress was a fantastic addition to this cast as his dry and unique sense of humor worked perfectly with the two lead characters. As a whole, this film is a bit corny, but I felt that the story was interesting enough to keep me engaged. From the very beginning of the film director Sean Anders and writer Brian Burns pushed the idea of family being the most important thing and the fact that no child can have too many people to love and take care of them. Through all of the comedy and the ridiculousness that takes place throughout the course of the film these themes shine firmly through. It was nice to see some solid ideas in a film full of insane comedy (even though I very much enjoyed the comedy). The added ethical element was enough to take the film to the next level, because I believe that the comedy alone just wasn’t enough. I enjoyed this film very much, however, I was surprised to hear they announced a sequel to this film (review of that film to come soon). https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1528854/?ref_=nv_sr_2
