Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd (2003)

As if the 1994 original wasn’t dumb enough, this film managed to contain more stupidity than the first. My thoughts on this film are very similar to those that I had on the first film. While the story is terribly far-fetched and nearly impossible, the execution by the two lead actors (Derek Richardson [Harry Dunne] and Eric Christian Olsen [Lloyd Christmas]) was quite enjoyable. The stupidity of the film nearly ruined my appreciation for the acting, however, I thought that their ability to portray these ridiculous characters (one’s that have been loved by millions for nearly a decade at this point) was the film’s one redeeming quality. Small cameos from talented actors such as Mimi Rogers (Mrs. Dunne) and Bob Saget (Jessica’s Dad) added small sparks throughout the film that allowed me to focus just enough to be able to stay awake. The film was a veritable snooze-fest that left so much to be desired and failed to deliver on a number of levels. While the first film was anything but enjoyable, Troy Miller’s prequel managed to step even further away from what might be considered entertainment. If you have a few brain cells you’re not using, this film is an easy way to get rid of them. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0329028/?ref_=nv_sr_3
