This was, by far, the most unexpectedly good film in the MCU. Before seeing this I knew almost nothing about the Guardians. I was even skeptical when it came to the idea of going to the theaters to watch it. However, this was the funniest film in the MCU and it works so well with the overall tone and story. The casting choices for each of the main characters couldn’t have been better. Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista and Bradley Cooper’s roles in this film are absolutely hilarious. The combination of these three, plus Zoe Saldana and Vin Diesel, made this movie almost perfect. The chemistry between these five characters may be the best of any of the characters in the MCU. The story was interesting, the character development went smoothly and this film brought more to the MCU than may be apparent when watching for the first time. At the time that this film came out, I think this was probably the best film in the MCU. One thing I’m still waiting for in this series is for Howard the Duck to officially join the Guardians.
