This was basically everything I had expected it to be. This film was terribly f’ed up and full of emotion. What made this film even crazier was the fact that the idea for it came to Jame Gunn in a dream. After reading up on this film a bit, I found it very interesting that James Gunn said that John Gallagher Jr. made the best audition tape he had ever seen (that’s a hell of an endorsement coming from one of the premier story writers of the past few years). This had a very similar feel to Eli Roth’s Hostel franchise, as it was incredibly bloody and gruesome. I enjoyed it very much as it had deep, underlying ideas. I would categorize this film as a psychological thriller, as it really screwed with your head and your emotions. I recommend this to anyone that can handle intense amounts of blood.
