The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams (2013)

The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams live unique lives. Individuals such as Mayor Bear (Elmer J. Santos), Loose Cannon Bear (Greg Vorob), and Imagination Bear (Dan Conrad) live in harmony, sort of, in a world of individuality and oddities. The aforementioned residents of the Land of Infinite Dreams deal with issues, however, like everyone else. They experience the troubles of Dirty Bear, compromise, and the communal peanut butter being broken into. With issues like these, life is sure to be anything but magical for The Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams.

What the f**k did I just watch? This is honestly the most appropriate response after watching The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams. The entirety of the series is absurd, laughable, cringeworthy, and downright ridiculous. With all of that being said, however, The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams is a damn good time. Who cares how ridiculous the series is, because it’s wonderful entertainment. Bears humping one another, s&m, stereotypes, and even a few slurs make this series brilliantly funny and full of endless laughs.

Conrad, with the help of Santos, Vorob, and others, continue the no-holds-barred comedy and entertain viewers from the opening seconds. For those who are familiar with the works of the aforementioned individuals, their films and series tend to be raunchy and unapologetic, and that’s what makes them so amusing. I can’t help but to think that the world of cinema needs more minds like this to make it big and balance out the individuals who are so worried about offending others that they veer from their true selves. The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams is just a sample of what these filmmakers have to offer the world, and I couldn’t be happier that their content exists.

Animation is difficult. I’m not a pro by any means, but I understand the time and dedication that goes into creating a film or a series made up entirely of animation. The process can be tedious and frustrating, and I commend all involved with bringing this show to life. The animation present in The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams is seamless and moves fluidly throughout, allowing viewers to suspend their disbelief and simply appreciate the stories and the interesting depth of the characters.

If you’re easily offended or your looking for a deep, meaningful narrative, you may want to skip The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams, I have to be honest. But, I encourage you to be brave enough to face The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams and enjoy the hilarious content. Reminiscent of Imaginationland from Comedy Central’s South Park, The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams presents the world with some rather interesting furry friends and invites them into a world that, in more ways than one mirrors our own, but also breaks the mold of typical animated comedy. It ranks up there in terms of content with the South Parks and Family Guys of the world, and expresses that Conrad and his cohorts have a genuine understanding of the world in which we live--even if it does take the form of some idiosyncratic bears. The Magic Bears of the Land of Infinite Dreams is a unique journey, and one hell of an interesting ride.
